What is Staging?
staging is a process to improve both your home's appeal and value. The purpose of staging is to make it appeal to a more varied range of buyers by depersonalizing and de-cluttering your space while maximizing the layout and flow of the space. We creatively rearrange and reinvent your space to make it appeal to the broadest range of buyers, thereby maximizing your potential profit.
 
Why Stage Your Home?
Our home is usually the most valuable possession we own, yet many people do not take the necessary steps to guarantee that their home "shows" in its best possible light.  According to studies by the National Association of Realtors, staged homes sell faster and for a higher price than unstaged homes. A quick search on the Internet shows time after time that staged homes are on the market for a shorter time, usually less than half the time of an unstaged house, and sell for anywhere from three to ten percent higher in price.The ideal time to stage your home is before it hits the MLS, but staging can benefit almost any home.

I meet with your clients and complete a walk-through inside and out, then prepare a written report recommending specific steps they can take to make their house stand out from the competition. This includes suggestions to improve curb appeal, declutter, depersonalize, organize and suggest removal of extraneous items to make the house appear to have a better layout, be lighter, and more spacious. In addition, I make suggestions on ideal furniture placement and room function.

Education and Experience
Working with a lifelong passion for all aspects of home design, decorating and landscaping – I received a Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. My work in interior design in Chicago and California has resulted in the restoration of two historic houses, and the design of a contemporary home in California. In addition to design and decoration I have also studied home staging. I hope to show you how it can increase the price and salability of houses by show-casing each home’s best features.
